Ambassador of UK

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Great Britain Mr. Robert Brinkley paid Donetsk Chamber of Commerce a visit and meet Donetsk leading companies and regional authorities.

Ukraine, Donetsk – 30.03.2005 XITEX Software took part in the meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary  Ambassador of UK in Ukraine, Mr. Robert Brinkley who came to Donetsk to consolidate partnership development between Donetsk region and Great Britain. He attended the official meeting in Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The main issue of the meeting of the Ambassador with representatives of Donetsk businesses and municipality was summing up of results of corporate project “Improvement of business environment in Ukraine”.   

Speaking entrepreneurs marked the high results of the project. Also they noted a good prospects for future similar projects not just in the sphere of industry and commerce but in the other branches as well, namely in the sphere of IT development in Ukraine and offshore programming services.

Askold Kalnisky, CEO of XITEX Software noticed in his speech: “Such projects would be very important for us and would give a great support to IT industry in Ukraine. The active support and favorable conditions are significant for the development of this branch. It’s clear enough, India and China – the main participants of the world market of offshore programming – achieves their success due to the governmental support of IT development. Now the real advantage of Ukraine in the sphere of offshore programming is the high educational level of Ukrainian programmers, low running expenditures and our closeness to the Europe that guarantees the closer contacts with European customers”.

In return speech, Mr. Brinkley said that Western corporate customers show more active interest in software potential of Eastern Europe. It is known that representatives of IFC (International Investment Corporation, the filial of World Bank) at the end of 2002 – beginning of 2003 were investigating Ukrainian offshore development companies with the aim to invest into them.

“There is a proper attention from European business to Ukrainian IT companies on the eve of entry of Ukraine to EC” – emphasized Mr. Brinkley.
