Ukrainian cyberneticists developed extra-power computer performing about one billion operations per second. Twenty-four-hour work of the computer gives the scientists from several institutes the possibility to perform difficult tasks. Computer, called SKIT can forecast the weather, be used to consult city building and even calculate the state budget.

SKIT system consists of 64 processors with highest productivity of 270-300 billion operations per second. It possesses huge memory volume what is of great importance in solving very intricate tasks. 

“Ukraine takes the forth place in the world by number of qualified programmers”- said Ivan Serguienko, Cybernetics Institute director, where the computer was developed. – And due to this huge potential Ukrainian scientists will be able to offer a great number of new developments.”
